The Printing Press


Everyone likes books. If not books, then comics or magazines. You would not have these things if Johannes Gutenburg had not invented the Printing Press. Even if you don't like books, you may like movies. Many movies like: Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Cinderella, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, and many more would have been produced because they are all adaptations of books or comics.

Before the Printing Press was invented monks mostly wrote the books. Therefore they were all religious books like Scripture. Only rich people could afford books. You had to trade all sorts of things to buy books because they were so rare. Back then, only a few people could read and they were mostly boys, so books weren't in very high demand.

The first book off the Printing Press was the Bible.Plus all those other classics like: Pride & Predijuice, The Canterbury Tales, Gone With the Wind, Romeo and Juliet, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. We wouldn't have as high a vocabulary and it problably accounts for 50% of our knowledge.

Obviously our lives would be more boring and we would be more stupid without the Printing Press. Not to mention that our summers would be really boring.
